Wow, incredible photography. Just blown away by the thought that must've gone into taking the photos and then executing each one. Just love the natural simplicity.
Michael this stuff is beautiful....I havent seen any of your work since the college years and so much of that was video...eh?
Amazing work, and so diverse...you capture some amazing views of places as well as objects...super impressive man....and thats coming from the day of the perceptive critic. -Michael Napolitano www.slowlearnernyc.com
I notice in your pics bro that they are so simple they would intially make excellent graphics or logos. Most of your phtots generate an illuminating light where the contrast is stong ex) the diner shot, the empire state building shot, the bridge. Its a hard effect to capture but once you do, you just know that piece will look the best. It appears we switched roles.....you photographing, me filming.
P.S. When i get home I plan on attepmting to build a new exhibit with you....dont forget about it. good luck with this one. love-rob
Great work Mike! I really love the simplicity, hence there complexity. And what beautiful places you travel too and get to experience. Awesome! Best of luck with the show. I'm sure its the debut to many more in the future. Always the best, Karla
Great pictures. Simple, beautiful, and either tell a great story or bring back a fond memory.
Your picture of Smith's Bar in NYC, is a place I used to go to every year in college after we attended a conference. I know my professors at school would love that photograph. We had such a blast, and it is a total dive to boot. Great NYC haunt.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes as your present your work in your first solo show.
Wonderful collection. Terrific variety, deft touch, tight composition and highly evocative -- capturing not only the moment but conveying emotional content as well. Long live B&W.
Mike, these are so amazing. I am sure the show was a hit. Wish I could have been there. I want several of them so we will have to figure out how to get them to Montana, can I buy them from you and what sizes do you have? Give my best to Tara. Bon xx
Congratulations Mike on your Show! Great job that you both had time and energy to get this done..considering you have two little ones to take care of, too! I hope you had a wonderful reception and good reviews/comments on the work. All my best, Randi
We congratulate you on your new endeavor with the Photo Exhibition. Hope the opening reception was successful and a joy to you, and Tara. We certainly would love to be able to see this in person, but are glad for the examples on the web, which are very impressive.
Congratulations! How was the show, I am sorry I couldn't be there. The postcard looked great. Next year you and Tara will have to participate in the Metamorphosis Art Show, it will be sept 16th, 2007.
Hi Mike and Tara we so wish we could have been there in the flesh. The shots looks sensational - I particularly liked the boats on the pond so still and peaceful and also the tall ship at dock as there were no modernly dressed people it could have been taken hundreds of years ago. So proud that you have both got this exhibition on the road. Best of Luck The Sheahans xxx
Hey Mike, Steve T. forwarded me your site (since I'm also a photographer/artist/art teacher). Wanted to let you know about another venue for you here in Beacon, NY: The Howland Cultural Center does group shows each month featuring local and not so local artists (your tie to Marist makes you local enough). They have a photography show every January (I curated last years). So get in touch with them (feel free to use my name) at www.howlandcuturalcenter.org. And good luck. Some of your images are quite striking and I love the flash work.
And one question: Tell me about the music, how did you connect with a band/use it on your site etc.???
